Kemp Theater: Where Stories Come Alive
Kemp Theater is more than just performances on stage—it's about creativity, expression, and bringing stories to life. Our theater students serve as storytellers and artists, captivating audiences through drama, comedy, and everything in between. Through dedication, collaboration, and passion for the craft, Kemp Theater students develop confidence, communication skills, and lifelong friendships while representing the Kemp Yellowjackets on stage and at competitions.
We're proud of our theater program's commitment to excellence, fostering talent and building a community where every student can shine in the spotlight.
Director Spotlight
Meghan Cantrell, our theater director, has been passionate about theatre and One-Act Play (OAP) her entire life. For the past 8 years, she has led Kemp's theater program, helping students discover that theatre is more than performance—it's a powerful tool that builds reliability, social skills, teamwork, and self-esteem that last far beyond the stage.
Mr. Williams may not be a Kemp native, but he's East Texas through and through—a proud Van High School graduate who discovered his passion for the stage and never looked back. With over 20 theatrical productions under his belt as director, actor, and crew technician, he's now on a mission to bring the UIL One-Act Play competition back to Kemp Junior High School.
